What is this service?

Rochdale Law Centre is a registered charity that provides free, independent, specialist legal advice and representation to individuals in Greater Manchester and some surrounding areas. Rochdale Law Centre's solicitors are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Free legal advice is provided in the areas of Housing, Asylum, Immigration and Employment. We are also able to offer representation in Housing, Asylum and some immigration matters for example, those involving domestic violence.

Our sister Community Interest Company, Rochdale Legal Enterprise is able to offer representation in Employment, Immigration and Asylum Matters at an affordable price. The same solicitors and caseworkers that work for Rochdale Law Centre also carry out work for Rochdale Legal Enterprise.

Rochdale Law Centre was established over 20 years ago to promote access to justice and to serve the needs of traditionally oppressed groups and those whose access to the legal system is restricted. Our mission is to help those disadvantaged by:

Providing free, independent, high quality legal advice and representation.
Addressing inequality in access for persons and families on low incomes to high quality legal advice and representation.
Undertaking training, public education work, campaigning and by working on a strategic level with relevant partners.
Challenging discrimination of all kinds.
